  • ADG®-TT: Swivel Joint for Cryogenic Applications Down to -200° C (-328° F)

The ARTA ADG®-TT Swivel Joint was specifically developed for low-temperature applications. It prevents torsional stress in hose lines and pipelines, reducing premature wear on piping systems. Its flexible design also allows different sections of a line to rotate relative to each other.

The cryogenic swivel joint is suitable for transporting LNG and LOX as well as other liquid and gaseous media at temperatures down to -200°C (-328°F).

How does the ARTA ADG®-TT work?

The two connecting components of the ADG®-TT Swivel Joint are mounted on one or two ball bearing races. This allows both pivoting movements and full 360° rotation.

What advantages does the ARTA ADG®-TT offer?

Reliable even at extremely low temperatures

The ADG®-TT enables the loading and transfer of liquids and gases at temperatures down to -200°C (-328°F). The swivel joint remains fully functional even when covered in ice, making it particularly suitable for demanding cryogenic applications.

High compatibility through a modular system

Whether straight or curved, with threaded or flanged connections, ARTA offers the right swivel joint or articulated piping system for every application. The modular construction system provides flexible solutions for a wide range of requirements.

      Reduced wear and easy handling

The swivel joint prevents the hose from twisting, reducing mechanical stress and protecting it from premature wear. At the same time, the ADG®-TT simplifies the handling of piping systems and enables flexible movement in otherwise rigid installations.

      High level of safety

Preventing torsional stress reduces the risk of hazardous situations and increases the operational safety of the entire piping system.

      Low maintenance and high durability

The use of high-quality materials and optimized ball bearing races ensures the long service life of the ADG®-TT Swivel Joint. Particular attention was also paid to minimizing maintenance requirements during its development. The infrequent maintenance procedures can be carried out quickly, easily and efficiently.

For which areas of application was the ADG®-TT developed?

The ADG®-TT Swivel Joint was specifically developed for transporting liquid and gaseous media at extremely low temperatures. These include liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquid oxygen (LOX), ethylene, propylene and ethane. It can be used as a movable component of pipe and hose systems in suction and discharge lines. It is particularly suitable for use with loading arms and hose loading stations.

Ideally, the ADG®-TT Swivel Joint is combined with an ASK®-TT Dry Break Coupling and an NTS®-SZ-TT Safety Breakaway Coupling for cryogenic applications.
