    Fittings used in marine and offshore applications must withstand extreme conditions. Floating hoses and underwater pipelines are exposed to enormous lateral forces that can lead to unintentional coupling disconnections. In addition, pipelines installed at great depths are subjected to high ambient pressure, while saltwater causes progressive corrosion.
