  • ASK®-HD: Dry Break Coupling for liquids and gases at high pressure

The ASK-HD for higher pressure ranges enables easy connecting and disconnecting of filled hoses and pipes that are under operating pressure. It transports both liquid and gaseous media in suction and pressure lines drip-free, safely, and quickly. Its integrated swivel joint minimizes mechanical wear, ensuring long-lasting use.

Thanks to its unique double-chamber structure, the ASK-HD is distinguished by a maximum level of operating comfort and safety even at higher line pressures.

How does the ASK®-HD from ARTA work?

Connecting and disconnecting the ASK-HD Dry Break Coupling is simple and fast.

To connect, place the female part onto the male part of the dry coupling. With a single, continuous rotational movement, the coupling is first sealed and then its valves are opened. The transported medium thus remains safely and without loss in the line.

To disconnect the ASK-HD, proceed in reverse order. The valves of its coupling halves close automatically, thereby preventing any media loss. The male part typically remains on the equipment, as its valve stays securely closed until the next coupling operation.

What advantages does the ASK®-HD from ARTA offer?

      Perfect handling in high-pressure areas

The specific double-chamber design of the ASK-HD ensures safe and reliable operation, even at higher pressure ratings.

      Drip-free & safe

The valves of the ASK-HD guarantee drip-free connecting and disconnecting, so that neither the environment nor the user is exposed to the transported medium.

      Fast loading processes

You can disconnect the ASK-HD even when the line is still filled, which significantly accelerates loading processes. The easy handling of the dry coupling also minimizes the time required to establish a connection. The ergonomically optimized hand wheel contributes to this, making operation significantly easier compared to a conventional holding grip.

      Maximum flow rate

We determined the flow-optimized design of the ASK-HD using the Finite Element Method (FEM) and validated it through flow testing. This minimizes pressure loss and enables the dry coupling to achieve a maximum flow volume.

      Integrated swivel joint

The integrated swivel joint on the female part of the dry coupling minimizes mechanical stress and prevents torsional loads from acting on the line. Additionally, the high-quality construction of the dry coupling ensures smooth and reliable rotation of the swivel joint over the long term. The ASK-HD therefore requires very little maintenance.

      Greater safety with ARTA-Pin

The ARTA-Pin provides an additional safety feature. It is located on the female part of the dry coupling and engages with the male part to prevent unintentional loosening of the coupling connection.

Error-free coupling thanks to mechanical encoding

For all ARTA dry couplings, we offer the option of mechanical encoding. It prevents accidental coupling with fittings that transport a different substance than intended. This prevents unintended mixing of media.

100% verified by international certification bodies

The ASK-HD is a globally recognized safety coupling that has been certified by well-known international certification bodies. Consequently, it can be used in various safety-relevant applications.

For which applications have we developed the ASK®-HD?

The ASK-HD Dry Break Coupling from ARTA is used on suction and pressure lines for liquid and gaseous substances. It can be used in both hose lines and pipe loading systems. It is therefore ideally suited, among other things, for tank vehicles, rail tank cars, loading stations and hose stations. Even at high operating pressure, the innovative double-chamber design of the ASK-HD ensures its unrestricted functionality.

Ideally, combine the ASK-HD with one of our NTS break-away couplings.
